Episode 2 – A song for Ruby
TOM: I’m really sorry.
ELLIE: What about?
TOM: My dad.
DAN: Why?
TOM: He’s so embarrassing. ‘I know a great song called Ruby. Where’s my guitar?’ This is my room.
DAN: Wow. What a nice poster. Do you like car racing?
TOM: Not really. I just like this racing car.
RUBY: I like it, too.
ELLIE: Ah, I know what I like.
TOM: Careful! That armchair is … broken.
RUBY: Too late! Wow! I like your garden. It’s so big.
TOM: Well, it isn’t all our garden. This part is ours, but that part is next door’s garden. Our garden is really quite small.
ELLIE: Well, maybe, but your house is big. Can we see it?
TOM: Sure, come on.
TOM: And this is my sister’s room.
RUBY: It’s nice. I really like it.
TOM: And this is the games room.
DAN: Table tennis! Cool!
RUBY: Yeah, let’s play sometime.
TOM: Sure. We can do that.
TOM: And here’s the living room.
ELLIE: Wow! That’s a big TV!
TOM: Yeah, it’s great.
RUBY: Look at all those DVDs!
DAN: I really like your music. Wow! Coldplay. They’re awesome.
ELLIE: Ed Sheeran! I love his music.
RUBY: And there’s Lorde. She’s great.
DAN: And Lil Wayne! You have rap music, too. Cool!
ELLIE: This is great music, Tom. But why do you buy CDs? You can just download all of this.
TOM: Well, it’s not my music. It’s my dad’s. He likes to listen to CDs.
RUBY: Your dad’s? Really? Is your dad a …
DAD: Ah, there you are. Good. Now, sit down, sit down.
TOM: Dad, please.
DAD: Don’t worry. Only one song. Sit down, please, I want you all to listen.
TOM: Dad, please.
RUBY: Let’s listen, Tom.
DAD: Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby,… Do you, do you, do you, do you, … Know what you’re doing, doing to me?
RUBY: Tom, your dad is really cool.
TOM: Really?
DAD: Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby!
TOM: Yeah, he is.
